I recently had a bit of a scare last Friday, when the computer got a strange message, asking me to download something around the lines of, "Win 7 Antivirus".
Turns out that it's a complete hoax. This Win 7 thing is a virus itself, and it's trying to con you into thinking you have massive computer problems so that you'll unwittingly download it.
Fortunately, I was immediately suspicious about it, and with some help from my dad, the virus was purged on that same day.
So yes, everything's working. Don't worry.
As for what you can do, if you should suddenly get a message telling you to download a program called, "Win 7 Antivirus 2012", DON'T FALL FOR IT.
Instead, look for a program called, "Microsoft Security Essentials", and use it to get rid of this annoyance as quickly as possible. If you don't have any problems...still get it. Couldn't hurt to be safe, since it works so well.
Either way, I'll provide a link to it right here:
